2024 Monthly Meeting Schedule
The Living Art Bonsai Society meets on the third Saturday of the month at 1:00 pm.
The meeting is followed by a work session till 5:00 pm.
We are currently meeting in the gymnasium at Kids Kount Daycare

Everyone is welcome!
Following the short business session and adjournment of the formal meeting, bonsai work sessions (bring a tree of your own to work on, or to discuss with other members) are held every meeting, alternating with presentations on bonsai-related topics.

Apr 20th – Lee and Carol are going to present on Azaleas
Afterwards, Phil will be available to discuss repotting.
May:
May 4th – Tour of Aldridge Gardens Collection in Hoover on Saturday May 4 at 10 AM. Address is 3530 Lorna Rd, Hoover, AL 35216. John Walker will give us the tour and talk about the trees. These trees are spectacular, some have been shown at the Kokufu in Japan. Expect an hour–the garden is very nice and admission is free. Meet at the Aldridge House in the missile of the garden (it is where the restrooms and gift shop are–just follow the path from the parking lot) There is no fee for this and we encourage people to bring family members or friends who may be interested in bonsai

- May 5th – Sunday is the Japanese Festival, Monte Sano State Park. People should tell Tom Gately if they are interested.
May 18th – we will have our regular meeting. Focus is on preparing trees for the show. Open discussion.

Kusamono workshop is 2 hours, and all materials are provided, including plants and pots and soil for 2 kusamonos–cost is $45 all inclusive
